BARCLAY
FARMS
"How do I go about acquiring a Barclay Farm's puppy?"
If you are interested in acquiring a puppy just send me an EMAIL or give me a call 330-898-8387 and I will add your email address to my UPDATES folder. Then you will receive our newsletter with updates on breedings and litter announcements.
I do require that all of our puppies go to homes where they will be well loved and made a member of the family.
I also prefer that they
have
a fenced yard with a dog door and if not a pen is required for when
they
are not being watched carefully out of doors. I can not begin to tell
you
how many people will email me and say how their Rottie got hit by a
car,
I know that accidents can and do happen but you can minimize the
possibility
by NOT allowing your puppy or dog unrestricted freedom when out of
doors.
The best friend your dog can have is a good sturdy fence, pen or leash.
And of course the most important, YOUR presence whenever possible.
I do not REQUIRE spay or
neuter,
I believe this is an individual decision. I do however recommend
spaying
females if you do not intend to breed . Spaying protects them
from
hormone related cancers later in life, mammary and uterine cancer and
also
uterine infections and inflammations caused by progesterone during
unbred
cycles, these are called pyrometra and are prevalent and life
threatening
even in unbred females.
"What is the next step in the process? I am already on the list and receiving the updates?"
When the litter of your choice (example; Stormy and Cherry) is announced just give me a call or send me an email and make arrangements to place a deposit to hold your little one until s/he is ready to come home to you at 8 weeks of age. Federal law restricts the shipping of young puppies before 8 weeks of age.
"What about the Deposit?"
The deposit is $300.00. The deposit may be made by personal check, cashier's check, money order, credit card through Pay Pal only, or Western Union. Deposits made by personal check will not be valid until they have cleared our bank. Out of state personal checks take 10 business days to be approved by our bank.
If you should place a deposit on a puppy and then change your mind your deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE. The only exception to this rule is if you have placed a deposit on a puppy that has not materialized. Then your deposit is fully refundable or may be moved to the next available litter of your choice. If you reserve a puppy and then change your mind for any reason.......your deposit is NOT REFUNDABLE.
If you do
not own your own home, please check with your landlord BEFORE
you
send a deposit. I will no longer refund deposits because the landlord
has
said "NO PETS", "NO DOGS" OR "NO ROTTWEILERS". You will loose
your
deposit, I have had too many people want their money back for this
reason
and it generates too much confusion with my reservations. If
you do not check first with the landlord you will lose your deposit.
Your deposit should be received within 5 days from the time you have made arrangements to send it, after the 5 days has expired if the deposit is not received the puppy will again become available for purchase.
"When is the Balance Due?"
The
balance
should be paid by cashier's check or money order by the time your puppy
is 6 weeks old if you will require shipping. This gives me a week or
two
to arrange for shipping on a day that is convenient for you.
If you
plan to pick your little one up here you may settle the balance in
either cash, money order or cashier's check at that time.
No
personal checks at time of pick up.
"How about Shipping?"
I
have
found that the best and easiest way to receive your puppy is at the
cargo
facility, that way they will help you with getting him into your car
and
there is no need for you to try to haul both puppy and crate through
the
terminal and to the parking area. At the cargo facility you may park
right
out front and will have help with loading.
Due to changes in airline policies and prices I have had to modify the way I handle shipping.
Since the airlines no longer carry the kennels I pick them up and add the price of the kennel to the shipping price.
Most of the airlines will no longer ship COD so shipment must be prepaid by me.
Shipping as of 12-2005 is running about $200-$225, the crates are between $65 and $75 so I have
just gone to adding $300 to the price of the puppy if the buyer requires shipment.
Please also be aware that shipping your puppy is dependent on the weather.
If it is too hot or too cold on the day scheduled for shipping, I will call the airline and move the date up to
the next best day for shipping. I can not risk the puppy's life to fit your schedule.
You will have to adjust your schedule to accomadate the little one's safe arrival.
